With the 2021 and 2022 District grants, the South Alexandria Club in partnership with the Mount Vernon Rotary Club voted to supply the funds for a school rebuild project in La Guadalupe, Honduras. The school was damaged by a hurricane and was unusable for school children. We partnered with a local Honduran Rotary club, the Choluteca Club, who handled hiring of contractors and setting up the grand opening. We are happy to say that the building opened for students in January of 2022. Take a look below at the difference between before and after the renovations and repairs. In 2022. the club decided to continue the work at this school by providing funds to build a new water cistern and sanitation system for the children.

For over ten years, the Alexandria South club donated duyrable medical equipment to countries in need around the world. Donations from the Rehabilitation Equipment Professionals, a local medical equipment supplier, was transported by local charity, Christian Relief Services, to several countries across the world - including Haiti, Sierra Leone, Mozambique and Zambia. Additionally, on one trip, one of our members went to Haiti to help make custom equipment for severely handicapped children in an orphanage.
