ABOUT THE SOUTH ALEXANDRIA CLUB
We are teachers, doctors, engineers, artists, public servants, business owners, and best of all - philanthropists and friends.
The Alexandria South Rotary Club was started on December 18, 1992 as a part of Rotary District 7610. Our small club is located in the southern portion of Alexandria in Fairfax County, Virginia. As a result of the pandemic, we currently meet virtually every week on Friday at 8:00 AM with the exception of 1 in-person meeting on the first Friday of every month at the Gerry Hyland Government Center.
Each week we have a program from a club member, business, interested individual, or organization from the South Alexandria area. Every meeting starts with 'Happy Dollars', a quick round-robin where each member tells the group something positive that happened to them that week. This is emblematic of the nature of our club - positive, fun-loving, and tight-knight. We are proud to have a club full of diversity in every way; a reflection of our community. Our focus is volunteering our time and raising funds for local charities, but we also organize with other Rotarians from across the globe to assist on projects wherever there is need. We encourage you to take a look at our projects page to learn more about our philanthropic efforts - a core value to our Rotary mission.
Whatever we are doing - you can guarantee we are having fun!
